Jed Stout

Jed is the owner and operator of Gambler Charter, LLC and the captain of The Gambler. With over ten years of ocean fishing experience, he brings a strong mix of local knowledge and adventure to every trip. His fishing roots in the rivers of the Pacific Northwest helped shape his expertise, which now includes navigating the Columbia River and the offshore waters of the Washington coast.

Known for his friendly, approachable style, Captain Jed makes every charter both fun and educational. Whether guests are seasoned anglers or new to fishing, he focuses on creating a safe, exciting, and memorable experience on the water.

Jed specializes in salmon, halibut, lingcod, and tuna fishing and has a deep understanding of local tides, weather, and seasonal patterns. Beyond chartering, he has played a key role in helping develop the XMW Slow Pitch rod and helps testing new products on the water, providing real-world feedback that helps refine performance and durability. When he’s not running charters, he enjoys competitive fishing, recently winning the 2024 Ilwaco Tuna Club Invitational.
